Amazon buys developer of console games

Amazon has the independent game developer double helix games taken over. The company compared to News.com confirmed a first report by TechCrunch, without mentioning details. The Declaration States that the decision was "Part of our ongoing strategy to develop innovative games for our customers."

Double Helix headquartered in Irvine, California, employs about 75 employees. Its most recent product is the fighting game killer instinct for Microsoft's game console Xbox one.

The game forge was born in 2007 through the merger of two Foundation 9 Studios: the collective and shiny entertainment. If one adds the predecessor companies, it can almost 20 years history and title such as Earthworm Jim, sacrifice, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, Star Wars Episode III: revenge of the Sith and Buffy the Vampire Slayer reference.
