At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Sony has a short-throw projector with 4 k resolution (4096 times 2160 pixels) presented. With a screen diagonal of 147 inches (3.70 m), the high number of pixels can really play out their strengths and allow a home theater in a literal sense.

A short-throw projector stands directly in front of the wall, on which he projected his image. Sony has its "4 K ultra Short Throw Projector" fitted with a minimalist design that should fit not too hard in a modern living room.

The short throw projector is based on a rear projection laser. The specs mention support for 3D and Sony's Triluminos technology providing very rich colors. The projector has four HDMI inputs.

Sony assures that it actually will - deliver the projector in the summer different than many product demonstrated at CES, which never comes in the shops. However, the 4 K ultra Short Throw Projector between 30,000 and 40,000 dollars will cost.

If Sony can boast the largest screen size, but some manufacturers with such short-throw projectors are scooped him. For example, the LG Mixedsignal 2013 presented at CES is now available at a recommended package price of 5999 EUR. With 1599 euro downright cheap the also available is used Philips Screeneo, the LED - instead of laser technology. Both can't wait to but with 4 k resolution.
